Beef production on native and paragrass pastures

Annotation

Compares the liveweight production of beef as affected by native and improved imperata pasture, and determines the approach or method of improving the pasture. Results indicate supremacy of grass-legume pasture in terms of animal weight gains, carcass quality, herbage production, persistence of pasture, nitrogen conservation and economic returns compare to other types of pastures. The author suggests overseeding of legumes on native pasture as an approach to solve the problem.
