This study is a part of a multi-location testing program of UPLB. It aims to to assess the performance of 27 open pollinated corn varieties at Ipil Experiment Station and Seed Farm, Ipil, Zamboanga Del Sur. Of the varieties tested, only eight are recommended by the Philippines Seed board for commercial planting not only in Region 9 but throughout the country, namely, VISCA var 2, IPB var 5, IPB var 2, IES Cn 1, IES Cn 2, USM var 2 and USM var 6 with a potential yield (under Ipil condition) of 6.87, 6.65, 5.70, 5.54, 4.63, 4.02, 4.45 and 4.39 respectively
