A study on the Maranao society of Lanao, the findings of which show that the Maranaos are not really an uncivilized, blood thirsty, unprincipled people. They have a distinct culture with Arabic influence as evidenced by their dialect religious, inspired by the Koranic teachings and percepts of the Islamic faith, but relatively, they are economically and educationally behind. All sorts of general misconceptions of them exist.
