A New high yielding lowland rice variety

Annotation

The study aims to accelerate the development of rice cultivation component technologies in the different key rice production areas in the Philippines. Specifically, it also aims to a) to develop location-specific technologies through the establishment of adaptation trials involving rice varieties, different fertilizer regimes, and characterization of pest population dynamics, b) provide the farmers to be involved in rice cultivation technologies, c) to generate data sets. The result shows that among the different varieties tested, PSB RC-32 gave superior performance giving the highest yield of 6.10 tons/ha. Fertilizer application at the rate of 120-40-40 kg/ha is found to be the appropriate for dry season cropping period. Increasing N levels generally enhancing pest and disease infestation causing yield reduction.
