Presents a description and comparison of the patterns of discourse at home and in the classroom in terms of strategies of communication, strategies for error connection, general communicative behavior of Maranao children at home and into the classroom. Also finds out possible differences in the two communicative contexts (home and classroom) that causes a mismatch or discontinuity that leads to ineffective classroom communication particularly the patterns of discourse in terms of strategies for communication in information-based, activity-based and negative feedback episodes structures of episodes, strategies for error correction and general communicative behavior differed in the two environments.
