Abstract:
In line with the task to localize the MDGs, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), through the Bureau of Local Government Development (BLGD) and in coordination with the Regions and the Social Development Research Center (SDRC - De La Salle University) has administered the MDG M and E Tracking Instrument Nationwide since September of 2007. The survey results have since been consolidated and analyzed. To advocate the results if the MGD nationwide survey, a national forum was organized by the DILG-BLGD which was attended by all DILG Regional Directors and Representatives of selected national government agencies (NEDA, DOH, DepEd, DSWD, NAPC, DENR, DA, POPCOM, NSO, NSCB), Leagues of LGUs, and other development partners.
This report presents information on the efforts of the LGUs to localize the tracking of the MDGs, disseminated in the national forum as well as in a meeting with NEDA representatives. The main objective of the project is the first laid out, after which the procedures employed in getting the LGUs to submit their tracking data, as well as the success in getting the submissions from the various regions are described. Then, the results of the tracking are presented, as well as some observations that have been made about the tracking process.
