Abstract:

This report provides a situational analysis of the poverty situation in the Conflict Affected Regions (CAA) of Mindanao and the Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao (ARMM). The report reviews the literature and explores a number of perspectives on
poverty including the relationship between conflict and poverty. In addition, the National strategies for poverty alleviation, access
to health care and the role of the Philippines Department of Health in the context of the FOURmula1 for Health Program and the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals are also examined.
