Abstract / Excerpt:

This study dealt with the construct, experiences, challenges, hopes, and aspirations of the anti-mining stakeholders in their collaborative effort in combating the issue on mining in Mindanao specifically in Tampakan, South Cotabato where SMI Corporation proposed to mine.The study provided descriptive details of the twelve identified administrators, managers, executive directors and representatives for the different anti-mining stakeholders in their collaborative efforts in combating mining corporations in Mindanao. Here, the problems and challenges experienced by the anti-mining stakeholders in collaboration such as lack of funds, conflicting interests and different institutional mandate, no framework for collaboration, and among others are discussed. Furthermore, this study provided suggestions and recommendations for the stakeholder's collaboration to help the anti-mining stakeholders improve their collaboration.
