Abstract / Excerpt:

Summary of Findings: Ethnicity in the area was fairly diverse with no ethnic group reaching more than a quarter of the total population. The largest group though are Cebuanos. A large number of houses were amortized either through SSS, GSIS or Pag-ibig. Almost all homes had electricity though relatively few had telephones. Peace and order in the area was good and the traffic situation was fair. The services of the health centers were available to most of the respondents. The condition of the roads in the villages though are poor with much of them are not cemented. Information dissemination was fairly good as almost all respondents were already aware of the expansion. Virtually all were not bothered by the presence of workers in the area and the majority did not want to move out even when the new terminal starts operating. Findings revealed that as of the present, the effects of the airport expansion on their residents nearby is not so great. However, some added facilities will be needed by the communities to prepare them for the expected development in their vicinity sometime after the new terminal starts to operate.
